Siemens SDL Logo

Siemens Medical Solutions USA

Siemens is a world leader in diagnostic medical imaging devices, such as CT, X-Ray, MRI and Ultrasound. Medical device technology changes rapidly, and with it Siemens must look to other ways of training its Customer Service Engineers.

The transition from classroom Instructor-Led Training (ILT) to computer-based Self Directed Learning (SDL) is driven by impending releases and rollouts of updated equipment. Space constraints at the Cary (NC) Training & Development Center require existing equipment be removed from the classroom to allow new equipment to be installed for classroom training. However, the equipment being replaced in the classroom remains installed at customer sites, which means CSEs must continue to be trained.

Kinetic Learning has created a template for “rapid e-learning” that allows us to work with a Siemens instructor to quickly and cost-effectively develop SDL programs. Each program consists of a Comprehensive Course Guide, a roadmap that guides the learner through the course as well as several CDs. When the Course CD is inserted into a computer, the learner sees the user interface you’ll see after clicking “Next” on the top of this page.

For demonstration purposes, only the highlighted videos and Interactive Exercises are active.
